Food Lovers: You should not miss these delicious Ramadan Food Joints in Mumbai

This month is that time of the year where Mumbai is celebrating holy month of Ramadan along with all the Muslim residents of the town. Once again, Mumbaikars have joined hands together in celebration and when we say celebration, we mean “Food” too. Ramadan is that month of the year when we get to eat variety of delicious and mouth-watering food. So fellas, Mumbai is holding Ramazan feast and this is where you can visit:

1. Suleman Usman Mithaiwala – This sweet shop offers mouth-watering variety of dessert items during the month of Ramadan. Go here to try their freshly fried Malpua’s with Malai. They also specialize in Aflatoon and Nankatai biscuits.

2. Noor Mohammadi Hotel –From their famous Shami Kebabs to Nalli Nihari, this place can make any meat lover rejoice. Do not forget to try their Chicken Hakimi and Sanju Baba Chicken (named after Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt who was their regular visitor).

3. Surti Bara Handi – This place, almost 80 years old in Mumbai, got its name because they cooked in ’12’ Handi. Bara handi is an elaborated dish cooked by combining 12 pre-cooked dishes. Meat lovers – try their Bara Handi Paya, the dish originated from their Iranian legacy.

4. Jaffer Bhai’s Delhi Darbar – How can one mention Ramzan and not think about Haleem? Haleem is traditional dish made out of wheat, meat and lentils. Walk in Jaffer Bhai’s Delhi Darbar to enjoy delicious Mutton Haleem. Also, do not forget to order Chicken Biryani, Chicken Patiala and Caramel Custard for which this restaurant is famous for.

5. J. J. Jalebi – Famous for their piping hot Mawa Jalebi served with cold Rabdi, J. J. Jalebi is simply famous for the best Jalebi’s in the town. A small sweet shop which also serve Phirni and Shahi Tukda, what crowd gathers is for the fresh hot Mawa Jalebis which are fried just outside the shop.

6. Mohammad Ali Road – Last but not the least, Mohammad Ali Road turns into paradise for food lovers during Iftar. Walk on the street and you will find several vendors selling variety of non-veg food items like kebabs, tandoor and rolls. For those who have sweet tooth, roll up your sleeves to try falooda, sweet idli, sevaiyya, shahi tukda, malpua, phirni and more. Go here if you don’t mind street food. Visiting Mohammad Ali road would definitely satiate your food pangs that too at cheaper rates.
